The results are almost in...but before the results, a little story.
Jeff and I were at the dr.'s office waiting to have an ultrasound; Jeff still did not want to find out the sex of the twins and I really did. We had the ultrasound, but didn't find out the sexes...hold on, don't worry, keep reading. We had the dr. put the sex of each of the twins in separate envelopes and seal them and give them to us. We left the office with our sealed envelopes and headed home. The whole way home I was bugging Jeff to let me open the envelopes, but he kept wanting reasons why we should find out and my answer "because I want to" wasn't good enough. As we were driving home I told him that we should open one envelope and see what one twin was and then decide if we wanted to open the other envelope. He really wasn't open to any of my suggestions. We were almost home when he made a sudden u-turn and headed up a hill near our home. We decided to open one envelope and see what was inside! We parked, got out of the car, sat on a rock and began to open the envelope. I was very excited, I think Jeff was too, he was really trying not to let me get my way, he can be very stubborn! We opened the envelope and pulled out the folded piece of paper. This is what was written on the paper:
I was expecting to see "boy" or "girl" written, not a gender symbol! My mind is not so clear lately, I had to think for a minute to figure what the symbol meant...it's a boy!!! Wow! A boy! I couldn't believe it. Jeff and I were both very excited. After finding out that one of the twins is a boy, I now don't "have" to know (but still would like to know) what the other twin is. If it's a girl I have plenty of girl stuff from Whitney and if it's a boy I think I'll have something to put this baby in. I don't mind waiting to get the nursery ready until we bring the babies home, they'll be in bassinets for a little while, so I figure I can get things ready (in all my spare time!!) once they're home.
For now, we have decided to leave the other envelope sealed and keep one a surprise for the delivery room. Both babies are healthy and seem to be growing quite well, which is all that we can ask for. Knowing the sex of the twins, or in our case, one of the twins is a perk!

That is the funniest story! I don't know how you can do that.....not open the other envelope. It would be killing me everyday knowing that written down on a peice of paper is the sex of my other baby. You have a lot of control! But that is so exciting that one of those babies in your tummy is a boy! Whitney is going to have a brother! Fun! I'm glad the babies are healthy and that you are doing well.
i'm thrilled that half of the suspense is over! boys are FUN but CRAZY!!!
I am SO excited for you! Twins will be amazing! And I am glad you are keeping Twin A a secret for now!
You guys are soooo fun. I'm so excited for you to have a boy. I concur with Annie- FUN but CRAZY!! Boston keeps me in shape and my patience in check. But he's a momma's boy and I love every minute of it. Can't wait to find out what Twin A is. Congrats!!!!
Yea!! A boy!!! We are so excited for you. Boys are a BLAST! What a fun little compromise to only open 1 envelope. I can't wait to hear if you break down and sneak a peek at the other one. CONGRATS!!
I love that story! I'm so excited for you guys! Whitney is in for it isn't she? She'll be a great big sister though. Congratulations - I can't wait to see these little ones!
